KuBoo Basket Weaving Workshop: Craft & Conservation

Looking for a creative, hands-on weekend experience? Join us at Wild Pines Farm on Saturday, November 28th, for an immersive afternoon of craft and conservation.

We are thrilled to partner with Carolina Bamboo to host their signature "KuBoo" Basket Weaving Class right here on the farm. In this workshop, you will learn to weave a beautiful, circular basket using wildcrafted kudzu and locally harvested bamboo.

What to Expect:

The Craft: Aaron from Carolina Bamboo will lead a demonstration on traditional Japanese hand-splitting techniques. Using provided split bamboo and stripped kudzu vine, you will weave your own approximately 6"x5" basket to take home. (Note: Weaving requires decent hand-eye coordination and healthy hands!)

The Conservation: What better way to discuss "invasive species" than by weaving with kudzu? Ben will give a brief, engaging talk on how we approach ethical foraging, compassionate conservation, and the role of these wild plants in veganic agriculture.

The Setting: Enjoy a crisp fall afternoon surrounded by our intensive market garden and animal sanctuary.
